After the divorce, my ex found out that I had been given a guesthouse by the sea, and he immediately brought my former mother-in-law there “for six months” so she could choose a room for herself. But they never made it past the gate.
“You’re just a secretary,” the director sneered in front of the entire board. He had no idea who had approved his appointment just a week earlier.
“You’re nobody here!” my husband spat. I silently packed my things, and an hour later I revoked his power of attorney over my business.
Go ahead and cry—you’ll come crawling back!” my husband shouted. A year later, I asked my secretary to summon him to my office.
“I’ll Find Someone Better!” he declared arrogantly. I kissed him on the cheek, and a week later he was fired because of the report I submitted.
